Judging a Book By It's Cover

So, it's time to introduce you to our new home. It is one of 7 units in the building which dates from the 1940s. This is how it looks now, before we make a few pre-move changes.

We even have our very own garage. Those of you who live in The Burbs won't be very impressed by that, but my fellow city dwellers will perk right up. You can't see our garage here because it's the one on the far right, just out of shot. Note to self: take a new picture for this one.

Yes, the building is named 'Knocklofty'. We don't know why, but according to our friends at Google, Knocklofty is a located near Tipperary in Ireland. I'll have to actually meet some of my neighbours to see if there is more to it than that.

Through the front gate and down a couple of steps and here is the outside door. It is a secure building, so you have to buzz to get let in. Sort of like call screening, only better.

The windows on the right of the door are the ones for our lounge room and my bedroom. Tall Peeping Toms only need apply.

  1. OMIGOLLYGOSH... it's absolutely beautiful Maggie, like something one might find on the South of France, at first glance.

But then one remembers that you are living in a far more beautiful city!

Congratulations! You may be broke from now on but what the heck, you found a really lovely spot and with a lock up Garage as well! I'm very impressed.

P.S. I can't imagine why anyone would think your new building reminded them of Locklofty, as beautiful as I'm sure Locklofty is... this is hardly Ireland! Building namers are weird!
